Arapawa Goats

Arapawa goats are one of the rarest goat breeds in the world. They are a small dual purpose breed originating from the island of Arapawa in the Marlborough Sounds of New Zealand. There are considered critical by the Livestock Conservancy.

CP Barry

Barry is the main buckling on the farm, forming the basis of the breeding program. He was a little shy at first when he came to the farm, but he has settled in so well and is always out playing with Betsy.

CP Mariah

Mariah is a sweet heart though a little feisty when she wants to be. She sustained an intra-articular injury and was treated at the University of Minnesota Large Animal Hospital, where they had to add her goat breed to their information because they had not had one before. She recovered so incredibly well and will also be a breeding female.

CP Poppy

Poppy is the matriarch of the goats. She makes sure everyone knows she eats first and she is also the most adventurous of them in new spaces.

CP Betsy

Cute as a button and always chatting when we visit her in the barn, Betsy will be a future breeding goat.
